The art of Impact

I'm Jennifer Slim — master colorist, educator, and the artist behind Impact Blonding. Over a decade behind the chair in Houston taught me one thing: a beautiful blonde is never an accident. It's intention — placement, formula, and integrity, every time.

I started behind the chair in 2015, drawn to the moment a guest sees herself differently in the mirror. The first transformation that hooked me was a dark, virgin head of hair I lifted into a soft, lived-in blonde — clean tone, intact integrity, real emotion in the room. From that day on, blonde became the craft I refused to stop refining. What started as a love for transformation turned into a pursuit: to do blonde better. Softer. Healthier. Built to last.

In 2023, that pursuit became Impact Blonding — my method for taking natural dark hair to a clean, pale blonde without ever sacrificing integrity. Stylists didn't just want the technique. They wanted the thinking behind it. So it grew into Intentional Impact — the hands-on class I now teach across nine cities in the U.S. and Canada.

That momentum led me to create The Impact EDU — the platform built to house everything I've learned and everything I teach. From that foundation, I launched Intentional Impact, a hands-on, in-person workshop refined around retouch-focused blonding and real-world salon application. My passion is helping other hair stylists and color specialists find their own path — not by copying my work, but by understanding the principles that make it repeatable, profitable, and unmistakably theirs.

Teaching rewired how I see the work. Behind the chair, I transform one head of hair at a time. In the classroom, I change how a stylist sees their entire craft. I'm not here to make you work like me — I'm here to give you the placement, the confidence, and the business sense to find your own voice and build a career with intention.
